John Legge BA, MA, LLB
The son of firm founders Laura and Bruce Legge, John Legge maintains a broad general practice, although in recent years he has focussed on civil litigation, especially regarding medical-dental malpractice.
John was called to the Bar in 1984 after completing degrees in History at the Universities of Toronto and of Western Ontario, and in Law at UWO. An active member of the Ontario Bar and Toronto Lawyers’ Associations and of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, John has also served as president of the University of Toronto History Students' Union, Honorary Solicitor of the RCMI, and Chair of the Board of the Ontario Safety League, where he is currently Honorary Counsel. John continues to be involved with a variety of local volunteer service organizations, boards, and charities. John is a recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration, Toronto Police Civilian Citation, the Confederation 125 Medal, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. He has instructed in professional and continuing education programs in Civil Litigation, Family Law and professional conduct, and has published a variety of papers in these areas.
John has appeared in all levels of courts and tribunals in Ontario. He has completed advanced courses in mediation, and has extensive experience in medical-dental malpractice and other subjects of civil litigation, family law, and alternate dispute resolution.
